Hi all, my beardie Enzo will not eat a thing and has been like this for two weeks now. I have continued to monitor his weight and it doesnt really seem to have dropped much and i have been feeding him the calcium and nutribal through a syringe added to water that he drinks.

Enzo has never eaten and greens at all and most of the time he will only be interested in morio worms. He went completely off locusts some time ago and im at a loss what to do now. He just doesnt even look at the morios when they squirm passed him???

any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million Debs, you are a star and my mind is alot more at rest now.

I could of course be wrong, but it is certainly the right time of year for brumation and whilst he's not losing weight it's a positive sign.

Brilliant, i think you are right as im sure he done this last year but not for very long but having read up on brumation, it does say it tends to vary on the length of time they brumate for.

I Hope everything will be ok and it is just brumation.

If my experiences are anything to go by, one sure sign of a Beardie going into brumation is that it happens immediately after you have bought a lot of food. dry.gif

Cheers laugh.gif

One thing i noticed is that last night he slept at the hot side of his viv and stayed there all morning, he seemed much more attentive when was walking past etc. I took him out to take some photos and he was slowly walking around instead of just laying still like he has been so maybe he is getting back to normal now??

He didnt eat but i didnt try for long, just let a morio riggle past him but he wasnt bothered.

Will get the pictures up on saturday.

Hello,

Just a quick question as to what type & brand of UVB light you were using? Is it a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light? How old is the UVB light right now? Remember, all tubes must be replaced at least every 5-6 months to maintain optimal exposure & emissions for them.
Brumation is a definite possibility though during this time of year.

Was wondering if you have any updates as there were no pictures posted at the weekend?

If it is brumation then like me it will probably catch you out every year, I know it does me dry.gif

Hi there, sorry i had a hectic weekend and the laptop broke. A new one should be arriving today so as soon as i get it up and running i will post the pictures that i took the other day. I have just over the weekend put a nice desert type background on his viv and bought him a new hide and tree stump to climb and he does seemed to have perked up slightly but still very lazy and sleeping all the time.

The UV i think was a reptisun one, i will have to double check this and it must be coming up to around 5 months old ish now so will buy a new one next month.

Thanks for everyones help!

sorry for the delay with pictures everyone. I have been extremely busy with overtime at work, weighed him again this morning and is still the same weight which is a good sign and is loving his viv now i have changed the decor.

Will definitely try to get some pictures on here this weekend although working again so will try my best.
